Digihumanism is honoured to have been invited to participate in the Organisation of American States (OAS)’s VII Meeting of Ministers and High Authorities of Science and Technology.

OAS Ministers and High-Level Authorities of Science and Technology will meet at the OAS Headquarters in Washington, D.C. on December 12-13, 2024, to address critical issues related to the safe, secure, and trustworthy development and deployment of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Americas, particularly the importance of governance, regulatory, and institutional frameworks.

Purpose of the Meeting: To build consensus around policies, projects and other solutions focused on governance, regulatory, and institutional frameworks for the safe, secure, and trustworthy development and deployment of AI in the Americas.

During the two-day meetings, participants will engage around the following proposed topics:

• Designing Model Governance, Regulatory and Institutional Frameworks for the Safe, Secure and Trustworthy Development and Deployment of AI;

• Leading Inter-Sectoral Dialogue, Programs and Actions for Effective Development and Deployment of AI in the Americas;

• Engaging in dialogue and Collaboration with the Private Sector;

• Strengthening Institutional Capacities and Developing AI Skills;

• Accelerating Regional Collaboration for AI Research and Development.
